Noah Has Settled Into His New Life
Every morning I wake up, and I'm pleasantly reminded that Noah is a permanent part of my family. He is either snuggled up against me, or he's licking my face telling me, "Hey! We're hungry! Is 5:30am too early?" It is? Well, too bad for youuuu! Lick-lick-nudge-nudge-snuggle. The other kids are doing some African-doggy dances on the bed, so I guess he's the polite one.
I can't believe that he was destined to be euthanized on the 16th of July 2007. I saw your post and knew that I had room, and that no one deserves this fate. Something made me keep following up on the e-mail and he eventually landed in my home, as a "foster."
I tried to do the slow intro to my dogs, but he was like, "Bring it on, Lady!" After an hour tops, he was fully integrated into my home. I have fostered before, and there are some that you like, some that you love, and some that you can't wait to find a forever home for - as quickly as possible. Noah was not only one that I fell in love with, but my dogs did too. To me, that was a sign. Not only that, but my friends, (pretty much all are cat-people) just ADORED him. I still just can't believe that someone would discard this awesome dog, who is so incredibly loving, and SO loves everyone he meets - canine or human. OK, I'm moving on from that! We can't wait to take Noah camping this fall, and take him down to Oregon to my folks' house.
I still don't know what made me step up to the challenge to foster a dog in very big need. What made me agree to take in another Pit-Mix? I truly think it was fate. I imagined interviewing people to adopt him, and I felt just sick that it wouldn't be me. I can't imagine life without him. So...my Mr. No-No, No-it-all, Noey-No-erton....is as happy as I am that he'll be with us forever.
Thank you again, for rescuing him so that he and I could cross paths.
