A Great New Life for Linus

Linus is a stunning mix of Golden Retriever and Australian Shepherd.  How someone could have kept this friendly, beautiful and loving dog tethered constantly and never allowed in the house or played with is a mystery.

Linus was one of the lucky ones. He had someone who was aware of his poor quality of life and wanted to help. His savior didn’t give up. Through careful planning and patience, this savior was able to obtain his release and AFF was there waiting to take him in. A foster home immediately opened their doors to Linus, where he charmed all those who met him with his gentle and playful nature.  In return, he received affection and care – loving treatment that he did not have for much of his life.

With the kind touch of his foster parents and acceptance from their family dogs, Linus learned how to belong to a home and not just a house - tied up in the backyard.  He was able to run free with his new friends and received regular hugs, affection and positive reinforcement from his thoughtful foster family.  He began to understand that this was what it was all about and slowly, came out of his emotional shell.  Hopefully, someday soon, a perfect, forever home will come where he would finally be safe, wanted, loved and appreciated.

That day finally arrived ....

John came to see another dog and noticed Linus with his mesmerizing eyes that matched his coat. Those eyes truly were amazing!  It was one of those situations where you start off with a plan and end up with something very different – but in a good way.  John knew immediately this was the right dog for his family.  Linus was also drawn to him. Linus had found his forever, loving home!
