Our goal is to help preserve the various species of animals that inhabit our planet. Without preservation, many more species will die, never to be seen again.
The original scope of Animals First Foundation was to give a voice to animals. This was not just another rescue group; but, it was a larger effort to band individuals, rescue societies on a local basis and larger in scope to help preserve all animals domestic and wild.
The Animals First Foundation wanted to be a place for public discourse. It wanted to provide information to everyone of the plight of certain animals. With man marching steadily forward devouring everything in its path in the name of the almighty dollar, someone has to speak out to protect these animals. There are many such groups in the world with that same mission; but, until everyone with a heart for animals becomes active the outcome is inevitable.
Laura Klappenbach penned a great article naming her top 10 Wildlife Conservation Organizations for About.com. You can find the article by going to http://animals.about.com/od/wildlifeconservation/tp/wildlifeconserv.htm
Who are some of these groups she listed?
- The Nature Conservancy
- World Wildlife Fund
- Natural Resources Defense Council
- The Sierra Club
- International Crane Foundation
- Friends of Haleakala National Park
- Royal Society for the Protection of Birds
- Conservation International
- Wildlife Conservation Society
It is our plan to explain the mission of each of these groups plus others. I leave it to you to investigate each group before you blindly follow them. You should decide if they fit your ideals. One thing for sure, if you explore each organization you will understand the nature of what is happening to our animals.
We have to protect these animals for no other reason to preserve humankind.
Welcome to the Animals First Foundation. I hope you enjoy your stay.
